Curriculum Intent
GCSE Computer Science helps students think about how technology is created. It allows them to understand how people work together with computers to develop world changing programmes like Facebook, Spotify and eBay
Students will also develop the skills that colleges, universities and employers are looking for – and they’ll prove valuable for the rest of your life.
Students will learn key computing concepts including algorithms, programming and computer hardware.
They will study these concepts and learn how to use this knowledge to solve problems using computer technology.
They will learn to apply this knowledge and consider the ethical implications of the world of computing, and how these computing can best help serve the community. They will reflect on Catholic social and ethical teaching and its implications for computing.
They will consider how using computers effectively can enhance wellbeing and change the world for the better.
