Chaplaincy

Chaplaincy teams are a vital part of the ministry here at Saint Benedict Voluntary Academy. In order to give opportunities for student leadership and spiritual growth, our chaplaincy provides a healthy environment for students to share their faith and provides a venue for responsibility and ownership through serving.

Saint Benedict CVA has two chaplaincies. The 2:10 PROJECT is a chaplaincy available to students Year 7 to Year 11 and NEXT LEVEL is the 6th Form leadership training chaplaincy.

The 2:10 PROJECT’s name is inspired by the scripture in Ephesians 2:10. “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

Our hope is that all who come to our school would see that God has created each an everyone of us in His image. That we were created by a loving God who has endowed us with talents and purpose to grow in His Word and love. We pray that all who join The 2:10 PROJECT feel comfortable to utilise their God given talents to organise and lead aspects of our collective life and worship. We encourage our pupils to share the faith in a fun and relevant way by planning, leading and serving. Some events that we have done so far are: Masses, Adoration services, CAFOD fundraising, Advent/Lent liturgies, Thought for the Days, Carol services, The SESH sessions, food drives and countless others.

Our other chaplaincy is NEXT LEVEL the focus is to Live, Love and Serve inspired by the scriptures in Romans 12. This leadership mentoring programme is designed to train 6th Formers in skills such as spiritual meditation, leading small group sessions, branding, fundraising, marketing and event organising. We hope that the programme instills responsibility, the knowledge of who they are to God and the skills they will need when entering the real world.
