Curriculum Intent
Students will develop and appreciate the power of high-level literacy skills, enabling them to become articulate, creative and thoughtful communicators.
Through an explicit and rigorous exploration of a wide range of high-level vocabulary, students will be exposed to and learn to value a Literature from different cultures, contexts and traditions. They will also explore the literary canon and will be able to develop their analysis of ‘great’ literature, and how it can shape our heritage.
Students will be empowered to be confident creative writers and readers, employing a range of dynamic and expressive techniques and skills. As a result, this will encourage habits of mind that serve as the foundation for a variety of futures and spiritual growth.
Students will be encouraged and challenged to aspire to appreciate the impact and value of words in celebrating culture, traditions, beliefs and our community.
