Curriculum Intent
All businesses need enterprising leaders and employees to drive their organisations forward, to have ideas and initiatives to promote growth and to ensure that businesses survive in this fast- changing world.
Enterprise is a key government focus and is set to form an important part of the UK’s global economic status, both now and in the future.
Enterprise skills provide a fantastic progression pathway into a number of roles in organisations and are transferable into all businesses and career choices.
Students will learn key business concepts including entrepreneurship, market research and marketing/ promotion, business planning and finance.
They will study these concepts using a variety of local and national contexts, learning how to use this knowledge to research, plan, pitch and review an enterprise.
They will learn to apply this knowledge and consider the ethical implications of business and enterprise. They will discuss how businesses can best serve the community. They will reflect on Catholic social teaching and its implications for business.
They will consider how running a business effectively can enhance wellbeing and change the world for the better.
